The Reverend David Brannen
Q: How does a Georgia boy come to feel right at home in Kentucky?
A: Move here after 14 years in Pittsburgh!

Actually, Pittsburgh was great, but I really missed those sunny southern days that are so good for running and hacking the ball around on the golf course. Now Kentucky feels just right. That feeling didn’t take long to develop; this place makes a pretty good first impression. When I saw the Bluegrass for the first time, I said, “It’s the prettiest place I’ve ever seen… that doesn’t have an ocean!” I’m so glad God brought me to Versailles to help start St. Andrew’s Church. I’m even gladder that my family agreed to come along. They are my wife Claire and three grown kids: Jack (21), Kate (20), and Jane (18).

My prayer is that through St. Andrew’s, many would experience the “deep, high, wide and long” love of Christ (Ephesians 3:18). I’d love to help you be one of them. Email me at dbrannen@standrewsky.org.

Born and raised in Kentucky I am a die-hard Wildcat fan.  I come by it naturally and remember once when I was very small my father falling out of a chair when a UK player missed a crucial free throw.  That is one reason I am so glad to be back in KY after 12 years serving in South Carolina.  Another reason is I have a great heart for the people of the Bluegrass.  Being at St Andrews allows me to be a part of what God is doing in and around the people I love.  I am also privileged to have a beautiful wife Rachel and two children that make my life complete. Being a fairly new resident of Kentucky, I enjoy the deep green of the pastures, the big blue sky and the gorgeous horses.  The best part of moving to Kentucky, however, is the opportunity to meet and serve beside the friendly folks at St. Andrew’s.  I have loved watching God move in our lives and am expectant at what He’s going to do in our future.  I am married to Jonathan, have three grown children (Erin married to Tim, Daniel married to Aly, and Sarah) and a beautiful little grandson (Braden).   I am usually in the church office during the week.  You can reach me there, or at swerner@standrewsky.org.
