Mercy and Justice

  • Anglicans for Life – As a chapter of the national Anglicans for Life organization, St. Andrew’s supports the sanctity of life in all stages from pre-birth to death. Our chapter works with Woodford Community Christian Church and Nile Ministries in Versailles, the Assurance Care Center in Lexington, and Avenues for Women in Frankfort.
  • Hope Ministries Clothing Bank – Sponsored by the Woodford County Ministerial Association and staffed by volunteers from local churches, the clothing bank provides clean, slightly used clothing and household items to those in need in Woodford County. St. Andrew’s is one of 13 churches that staff and support the clothing bank, with our volunteers serving four times a year. The clothing bank is behind Woodford Community Christian Church at 32 Hope Lane off Versailles Road.
  • Hope Ministries Food Pantry – St. Andrew’s is one of several local churches that staff and support the local food pantry, providing food to those in need in Woodford County. The food pantry is sponsored by the Woodford County Ministerial Association and is located at 299 South Main St., Versailles. St. Andrew’s provides volunteers for two two-week periods each year and also holds food drives to help stock the pantry.
  • Repair Affair – St. Andrew’s members participate in the Rotary Club’s Annual Repair Affair each September, working on teams to repair or modify the homes of low-income senior citizens and the disabled. Volunteers do everything from plumbing and electrical work to more general repairs like painting and cleaning yards.
  • Salvation Army Innkeeper’s Fund – Every year St. Andrew’s offers church members an opportunity to donate to the Salvation Army Innkeeper’s Fund through our Christmas Eve offering. Our contributions support the area’s only comprehensive emergency shelter for single women and families, offering counseling services, job training, child care, etc., to help break the cycle of homelessness.
